Purchasing A New Suit

There is no shortage of advertising for menswear. After examining all the media and advertising available on current styles, individuals must also consider their own needs based on such things as budget, body size, and occasion.

Do not despair, it’s not as difficult as it at first appears. All you have to do is follow some general rules to avoid making the mistakes.

Men can also choose between the single-breasted or the double-breasted suit style. The double-breasted suit, often associated with old bygone days, is back in the collection of many designers.

The old concept of having a tailor make a suit specifically for you has largely been replaced by some version of off the rack styling because of the significant difference in price between a custom-made and off the rack suits. However, expert tailoring is offered at many suit shops so that buyers can tailor the suit to their own measurements.

Many different materials can be chosen for your suit. However, we advice that you go with a nice wool fabric.

Socially, dress etiquette is not as rigid. One can almost push the bounds of good taste at certain events as everybody present will simply think of you as dressing individually. The trick is to ensure you choose the correct attire for the correct event and don’t try and dress so outrageously if inappropriate.

Logos and special designs on shirts and ties should be given some thought also. There’s an endless stream of possible big mistakes that could be made simply by wearing a totally inappropriate logo on a tie. I’m sure you can think of many such gaffs.

Lastly, get a second opinion. Your partner or wife would be a good place to go for an honest opinion. But make sure you listen to them. It is one thing to be comfortable but you want to look good as well. If you have to convince yourself it is right, it probably isn’t.
