In search of a new loft bed and not sure what to really buy? There are many choices when it comes to these types of beds, but was I only considering a regular one or more advanced. Like a bed with a desk, those are really nice.
See with that desk he would be able to study in his room in peace. Instead of having to sit in the kitchen to study and being interrupted by people walking through. Since his old bed was past the point of use, a new loft beds with desk seemed like the perfect choice.
Not only would it save on room in his smaller room, but with that desk it was an added extra we loved. The size of the desk would be important though, see it needed to be able to fit his computer, and still give him room to write too.
Our overall project budget was not a large one either. So we had to work on a smaller budget with making enough changes to make the room look great. With a teenage son you have many options for themes so that was not going to be a problem.
Looking around we wanted to be able to compare many places for these bed choices. We were leaning towards one with a desk for sure. So that cut out a few of the choices, but not that many. Not enough to make the decision one that was simple.
So we tried to decide on what would be best for the look of the room and what would last the longest. We wanted to have something that would stand up to a big teen boy who would plop down quite often on his bed too. The final choice would be between an oak frame and one of the metal frame beds.
Plus the overall plan was to get a bed that would last through the rest of high school, and perhaps a few years after. You know for those weekends when he would come home from college or just for the visits once in a while.
Finally, we decided that the wood bed would make a lot more sense, plus it would work great with the rest of the theme. The bed was easy enough to assemble that we could do it ourselves. Now the room has a wonderful loft bed with desk that he can study at when needed.
